Student Support | Online Assistance

Tuesday, January 5th, 2021

Our student support assistance is now available via Zoom.

In order to offer a more accessible way to reach us, we have adopted a new type of digital assistance, in contrast to the presential assistance at the Alameda campus reception. Thus, at the distance of a video call, we remain available to clarify questions about studying at Técnico, such as our courses and academic processes.

Attendance to the Public

Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 16:00
Procedure: non-scheduled assistance with a NAPE Guide
Zoom Meeting: (just access within the indicated timeframe)

In case of doubts or questions, we are available to help!

Information | Academic Year Start 2020/21

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020

Before you start the school year, there are some important documents you should know about (or ask for, if you are a new students) how:

  • School Calendar and Academic Deadline Calendar
  • Técnico Card and ULisboa Card
  • Enrollment Statement (normal and for discount purposes of sub-23 pass)

Note: The Graduate Area plans to make the Enrollment Statements available during the first weeks of classes, but there is not yet a set date due to the high number of requests.

Academic Activities Running

The general operating rules for classes and evaluations for the 1st Semester 2020/21, in the context of the current pandemic situation, are published on the Pedagogical Council page at:

If you have questions, check the Frequently Asked Questions here.

1st Semester Enrollment

All students, except 1st year students placed in the National Access Aplication, must register for the semester. Mobility students only need to book classes.

  • The enrollment period for the Courses is from September the 15th to 30th, in Fénix.
  • Once enrolled in the courses, you must book Classes (schedule creation), also in Fénix.
  • A support tutorial is available at our Instagram, in story format, in the highlights Tutoriais (english translation avaliable)

Here, are the Management Board information, sent by e-mail to all students, by the Vice-President for the Academic Affairs:

  • The practical and laboratory shifts are organized in A and B, except for those that were not divided at the request of the faculty, namely because their operation will follow particular rules.
  • Shifts A, with students with an odd number, attend in person in odd weeksShifts B, with students with an even number, attend in person in even weeks. This information is present in Fénix.
  • Like what has happened in previous years, there are shifts, divided or not into A and B in Fénix, whose attendance is managed by faculty. It is therefore normal that they cannot be chosen. Attendance to these shifts will be then determined and managed by the faculty, but the rationale of the division between A and B should still be observed.

Management Board received numerous requests from students who intend to change shifts from A to B, or vice versa, and although some of the arguments are understood, they inform that there will be no exceptions given that any exchanges would have to be transversal, and might not be consistent with the current academic organization by each curricular unit, namely when shifts are organized by faculty.

Students in risk situations Statute

There are two new student statutes in Fénix:

  • Online Presence – Authorized
  • Online Presence – Authorized – International Student

Students in risk situation duly proven through medical declaration, or international students who are unable to travel to Portugal, may request one of these statutes, which allow students to participate 100% remotely in teaching activities, by sending the request to the Graduation Area (

Students with one of these statuses are or will be identified in Fénix as such. It is important to bear in mind that the statute can be updated dynamically throughout the semester.

Campi Utilization Rules

  • Use mask permanently in every part of the campi, whether indoor or outdoor.
  • Respect the minimum physical distance of at least 2 meters in all places and situations, as well as the rules of circulation established in the buildings, preferably on the right in the common spaces.
  • Temperature will be measured to all the people who intend to enter the campi. Those with more than 37,5ºC will not be allowed access.
  • No more than 10 people are allowed in any space, regardless of the legal regulations in force, with the natural exception of teaching activities.
  • Hands hygienization before entering buildings/rooms is fundamental.
  • Rooms must always be ventilated, with at least 1 window open in each room.

ATHENS Programme | November 2019

Monday, November 25th, 2019

Between 16th and 22nd of November, we welcomed our ATHENS Programme students from the November 2019 edition. The ATHENS Programme is a short duration mobility programme, with an intensive course in a specific area of specialization.

In this edition, more than 75 students participated in a cultural programme, that had multiple experiences and activities, like visits to historical monuments from Lisbon, such as, the Santa Justa lift and Terreiro do Paço. In the middle of the week, the participants also had the possibility to climb to the top of the South Tower.

In order to taste the portuguese gastronomy, typical dishes and dinners were part of the programme, just like the famous Pastéis de Belém, queijadas and travesseiros of Sintra.

This experience allows students to get in touch with our country, culture and landscape, creating a spark in the interest for Portugal and the desire to come back.

Savoring the World 2018

Thursday, October 18th, 2018

NAPE is back with another international event for you: Savoring the World – a gastronomic competition, where you are the Chef!

We want you to share your culture on an international dinner, where everyone is invited to bring some dishes, drinks and typical things from their country!
Besides the amazing time you’ll pass, travelling the world without leaving Técnico campus, you still have the chance to get an amazing prize: Intra_Rail passes for all the team members – which includes 3 days of travelling all around Portugal and 2 nights at a Youth Hostel with breakfast included!

Gather your team (maximum 4 pax), bring your typical dish already cooked, serve it and decor the table in the most original way and enjoy it! 🙂
We will wait for you next Thursday 25th of October at 7pm, in the Main Building’s Atrium. It is mandatory to sign up in the form until 22nd of October (Monday).
You can find more information and do your team’s registration in the following form: .

The NAPE’s Team will ensure the portuguese presence (just as a host, don’t worry we won’t compete, otherwise we would probably win 😜) with some food and other surprises (did anyone mention liquors?!) along the evening.

So bring the best that your country has to offer and share it with us.

We need YOU to make an amazing event!

Breakfast Women in Tech @ Técnico Lisboa 2017

Saturday, October 28th, 2017

Técnico is a major school of Architecture, Engineering, Science and Technology in Portugal, involving a community of over 12,000 people.

Women are underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics all over the world and we are not an exception with only 30% women admittance this year. For us, this Web Summit parallel event will be a great opportunity to promote gender equality in our faculty community and country.

The Student Support Unit (NAPE), at Técnico Lisboa from Lisbon University, reached out to Isabel Folk, considering her experience with Web Summit parallel events, in order to create an event to our community and that’s how Breakfast Women In Tech @ Técnico Lisboa was born.

In 2010, Técnico Lisboa made a tribute to three revolutionary and pioneer portuguese women, all of them Técnico’s alumnas:

  • Maria Amélia Chaves, the first Portuguese female engineer;
  • Isabel Maria Gago, the first female professor of a national engineering school;
  • Silvia Brito Costa, the first full professor in engineering school in Portugal;

We, at Técnico Lisboa, will be happy to receive you. We have 150 tickets for you! Make your reservation on our Eventbrite event and join us for a breakfast while promoting the growth of women in STEM disciplines.

The program will be released soon!

Thank you,

The Student Support Unit (NAPE)

Enrollment to Mobility Students’ Mentor

Monday, February 2nd, 2015

Given the success of the last Welcome Weekend, NAPE is preparing a new event for all the mobility students that will study at Técnico in the next semester: the Orientation Week.

This event will take place on 9th and 13th of February and, once more, the participation of the Técnico students as mentors is essential to the success of this project. To all the mentors that wish to continue making part of the Mentorship Programme in this 2nd Semester or cancel their subscription, it’s asked to fill, until Sunday (Feb. 8th), the following form.

The Student Support Unit counts on you to welcome, one more time, the new Técnico Lisboa mobility students, in the best possible way!
