IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS

Academic Activities Running

The general operating rules for classes and evaluations for the 1st Semester 2020/21, in the context of the current pandemic situation, are published on the Pedagogical Council page at:

CLASSES AND EVALUATIONS (COVID-19)

If you have questions, check the Frequently Asked Questions here.

1st Semester Enrollment

All students, except 1st year students placed in the National Access Aplication, must register for the semester. Mobility students only need to book classes.

  • The enrollment period for the Courses is from September the 15th to 30th, in Fénix.

PROBLEMS AND LABORATORIAL CLASSES SHIFTS

Here, are the Management Board information, sent by e-mail to all students, by the Vice-President for the Academic Affairs:

  • The practical and laboratory shifts are organized in A and B, except for those that were not divided at the request of the faculty, namely because their operation will follow particular rules.
  • Shifts A, with students with an odd number, attend in person in odd weeksShifts B, with students with an even number, attend in person in even weeks. This information is present in Fénix.
  • Like what has happened in previous years, there are shifts, divided or not into A and B in Fénix, whose attendance is managed by faculty. It is therefore normal that they cannot be chosen. Attendance to these shifts will be then determined and managed by the faculty, but the rationale of the division between A and B should still be observed.

Management Board received numerous requests from students who intend to change shifts from A to B, or vice versa, and although some of the arguments are understood, they inform that there will be no exceptions given that any exchanges would have to be transversal, and might not be consistent with the current academic organization by each curricular unit, namely when shifts are organized by faculty.

Students in risk situations Statute

There are two new student statutes in Fénix:

  • Online Presence – Authorized
  • Online Presence – Authorized – International Student

Students in risk situation duly proven through medical declaration, or international students who are unable to travel to Portugal, may request one of these statutes, which allow students to participate 100% remotely in teaching activities, by sending the request to the Graduation Area (graduacao@tecnico.ulisboa.pt).

Students with one of these statuses are or will be identified in Fénix as such. It is important to bear in mind that the statute can be updated dynamically throughout the semester.

Campi Utilization Rules

  • Use mask permanently in every part of the campi, whether indoor or outdoor.
  • Respect the minimum physical distance of at least 2 meters in all places and situations, as well as the rules of circulation established in the buildings, preferably on the right in the common spaces.
  • Temperature will be measured to all the people who intend to enter the campi. Those with more than 37,5ºC will not be allowed access.
  • No more than 10 people are allowed in any space, regardless of the legal regulations in force, with the natural exception of teaching activities.
  • Hands hygienization before entering buildings/rooms is fundamental.
  • Rooms must always be ventilated, with at least 1 window open in each room.

Orientation Week | Spring Semester 2019/20

Wednesday, February 19th, 2020

Between the 10th and the 13th of February, we welcomed over 300 new international students, that will study at Técnico during the 2nd semester, following several Mobility Programmes. We could count on the support of 39 Mentors who, once more, made themselves available to welcome their new schoolmates and to guide them through their first steps at Técnico.

On February 14, the Abreu Faro Amphitheater hosted the Welcome Ceremony, where Professor Luís Miguel Silveira welcomed the new students, followed by NMCI and NAPE presentations. Along with the Mobility Coordinator from each course, visits to Técnico departments took place.

On the same day, we prepared the Portuguese Lunch, allowing the students from all around the world to taste typical portuguese dishes, such as Bacalhau à Brás and Arroz de Pato, topping off with the traditional Pastel de Nata, going along with a glass of moscatel or ginjinha. After lunch, the Portugal Rally took place, providing a bit of Portuguese cultural and historical background. On the weekend of February 15 and 16, our programme included several leisure and cultural activities, such as the City Rally (a circuit full of challenges in downtown Lisbon, streamlined by our Mentors), as well as surf lesson in Carcavelos, a trip to Sintra or a trip to Belém and Cristo Rei. Sunday ended with our Welcome BBQ, where national and international students had the chance to socialize and have fun together.

At last, on February 17, after the first day of classes, we ended our Orientation Week programme with the Pubcrawl, where everyone got to know the night in Bairro Alto.

We hope we provided an unforgettable experience to the new international students at Técnico. We wish you a very unique and successful semester!

Alumni Talks | 15th Edition (Consulting)

Monday, December 23rd, 2019

With the support of Técnico Alumni Network (TT-Técnico) and Santander Universidades Portugal we organized the 15th edition of the Alumni Talks event, the Consulting Edition, on December 10. The Meeting Room of the Main Building received  six alumni and more than 40 students for a breakfast, with the participation of Prof. Arlindo Oliveira (President of Técnico) and Prof. Luís Caldas de Oliveira (Vice-President of Técnico for Entrepreneurship and Business Connections).

Consultancy being one of the most transversal professional opportunities to all Técnico’s master’s degrees, many alumni chose to work in consultancies, whose passion for a dynamic environment and the acquisition of new and varied skills captivated them for this professional career. Técnico already has 5 consultants in his Network of Partners with whom exchanges knowledge, talent and develops new ideas and solutions.

We thank the presence of our six alumni Ana Gabriela Pedrosa (ATKearney), David Amaral de Brito (Everis), Gonçalo Santos (Deloitte), Joana Namorado Rosa (Accenture), Susana Barroso (EY) and Tiago Kullberg (BCG) for accepting the invitation to return to Técnico and answer our students’ questions

This event was highlighted in the following article.

Mentoring Programme 2018/19 | 2nd Semester

Monday, January 21st, 2019

With the arrival of a new semester, we are preparing to host approximately 300 mobility students, coming from various countries around the globe, who will study at Técnico during the 2nd Semester.

The Reception Days will be held at the Alameda campus from the 11th to the 14th of February and the Orientation Week, a series of cultural activities to welcome our international students to Lisbon, will take place between the 15th and the 17th of February (during the weekend).

As usual, NAPE will not be able to provide the best welcoming week without its Mentors, that will accompany these students over the next semester. The Mobility Students Mentors’ mission is to guide them around the campus and to share our culture, while having the opportunity to participate in some of the Orientation Week activities such as the City Rally.

Registrations are open until February the 2nd in the following form.
